Hugh McTavish, Ph.D, J.D
Hugh McTavish is a patent attorney, Ph.D. biochemist, and founder and president of an emerging biotechnology company developing a new family of chemotherapy medicines. Dr. McTavish has five years of post-Ph.D. experience as a scientific researcher. He is the lead author of nine referenced scientific publications, the sole inventor of two issued patents and the sole inventor of two pending patent applications. Dr. McTavish is also an accomplished patent attorney, initially at one of the country's leading intellectual property law firms, Schwegman, Lundberg, Woessner & Kluth in Minneapolis, MN, and, today, with his own patent law firm, the McTavish Patent firm. Prior to receiving his PhD in Biochemistry Dr. McTavish was on the staff of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, Colorado, researching photosynthesis.  His research background also includes solar hydrogen production and hydrogen production by enzyme engineering.  He has patents and published scientific publications in green plant photosynthesis, solar energy hydrogen production, and enzymatic hydrogen production. Dr. McTavish has been instrumental in writing and developing Novus Energy’s RGL™ patent and five patents pending.

Del Hogen
Del Hogan is a graduate of the College of Biological Sciences, University of Minnesota. His ongoing studies and research include microbial biology, biochemistry, and organic chemistry. He is currently the president of Instrumental Research Inc., a certified commercial chemistry laboratory. Mr. Hogen is also the founder of Clear Water Technologies, Inc. utilizing the Hogen process that he has developed and expanded into a number of areas for wastewater treatment. Mr. Hogen is currently applying the information gleaned from over 20 years of microbiological process development to Novus' production of green fuels.

Thomas Barry
Tom Barry is a partner in the law firm of Hoff, Barry, & Kozar, PA (Eden Prairie, MN) and serves as Novus Energy's corporate counsel. Mr. Barry recently served as general counsel for Shuffle Master, Inc., a publicly traded company ranked as one of the top ten growth firms in the U.S. by BusinessWeek. He advises Novus Energy on in-licensing, out-licensing and general growth strategies.

Cary Musech
Cary Musech is founder and managing principal of Tonka Bay Equity Partners, a private equity firm with $200 million under management.  Tonka Bay acquires and invests in small and medium-sized manufacturing and business services companies.  Prior to founding Tonka Bay, Mr. Musech was Chief Financial Officer of Wright Products Corp., a leading manufacturer of builder’s hardware.  Previously, he was vice president in the leveraged and structured finance groups of U.S. Bank and Wells Fargo where he specialized in financing management buyouts and acquisitions.  Currently, Mr. Musech is advising Novus Energy on debt and equity financing strategies.

Jonathan DeVries, Ph.D.
Jonathan W. DeVries received his Bachelors Degree in Chemistry (minor in mathematics) from Augsburg College, Minneapolis, MN and his PhD in Organic Chemistry (minors in physical chemistry and biochemistry) from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN.  He has been active in industrial chemistry and analytical research for nearly 40 years.  For 26 years, Dr. DeVries has been working for validation and international standardization of analytical methods through such organizations as AOAC, AACC, ASTM and AOCS.  Jon is currently a Senior Principal Scientist at General Mills Inc. where he serves as the Senior Technical Manager for the Medallion Laboratories division, a division that provides analytical services to the food and other industries.

Phillip W. Parsons
Phillip Parsons is President and Founder of Parsons Engineered Products, Inc. (PEP) (Minneapolis, MN) which provides process application engineering, sales and services for environmental and biosolids facilities, odor control systems and gas compression systems for the industrial and sanitary engineering marketplaces. He received a BSCE degree from the University of Iowa in 1966 and did his graduate work in engineering at Marquette University.  Mr. Parsons is a member of ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers, the WEF (Water Environment Federation) and the AWWA (American Water Works Association) from which he was recently honored for his lifetime of service.  Phil is assisting Novus Energy in the application, selection and acquisition of capital equipment and provides guidance for design, engineering and fabrication services.
